Founded in 1817 and named after James Monroe, the city of Monroe still holds that small town feeling with large city amenities easily accessible. Visitors and residents alike flock to the many attractions Monroe has to offer, including the Cincinnati Premium Outlets, Traders World Flea Market, Treasure Island and Miami Valley Gaming. A family-oriented community, Monroe supports local organizations such as Boy & Girl Scouts, Soccer Association, Swim Club, MSA Baseball, Athletic Boosters and many more. Monroe Local Schools serves most of the city with the remainder served by Lakota Local Schools.
